Nut-Orange Cookies

Festive nut-orange cookies dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

  • Butter, 250 g
  • Powdered sugar, 100 g (2/3 cup)
  • Finely grated orange zest, 6 teaspoons
  • Optional – natural orange extract, 1 teaspoon
  • Ground walnuts, 110 g (1 cup)
  • Flour, 375 g (2 1/2 cups)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation:

Cut the butter into cubes and leave it at room temperature for half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Beat the butter with powdered sugar using a mixer for about 10 minutes until fluffy and creamy. Towards the end, add the orange zest and orange extract (if using). Mix in the ground walnuts and flour.

Shape the dough into balls using 2 teaspoons of dough each, slightly flatten them, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for about 12 – 15 minutes. Cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
