Espresso Martini

A harmonious blend of vodka, coffee liqueur and freshly brewed espresso, this cocktail is both energising and indulgent. A touch of homemade sugar syrup adds just the right amount of sweetness, while the iconic garnish of three coffee beans symbolises health, wealth and happiness, making it a truly special drink.

Ingredients:

  • 100g caster sugar
  • 50ml vodka
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons hot espresso
  • Crushed ice
  • 3 coffee beans to garnish

Method:

In a small saucepan, combine 100g of caster sugar with 50ml of water.

Heat over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Remove from the heat and leave to cool completely. This will make a simple sugar syrup.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Add 50ml vodka, 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur, 2 tablespoons hot espresso and 25ml of the prepared sugar syrup.

Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until chilled and frothy.

Strain into a chilled martini glass.

Garnish with 3 coffee beans placed on top of the foam.
