Butter Cake with Apples and Butter Crumble

Apples and crumble are the ingredients for a delicious cake. You won’t be able to resist its magic.

Ingredients

Vanilla Sugar:

  • Sugar: 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla: 12 g

Cake:

  • Sugar: 150 g
  • Vanilla sugar: 2 teaspoons
  • Cinnamon: 0.5 teaspoon
  • Eggs: 5 pieces
  • Butter: 260 g
  • Wheat flour: 200 g
  • Potato flour: 50 g
  • Baking powder: 1.5 teaspoons

Apples:

  • Sugar: 100 g
  • Cinnamon: 2 pinches
  • Red apples: 500 g
  • Lemon juice: 25 ml

Butter Crumble:

  • Powdered sugar: 30 g
  • Butter: 30 g
  • Wheat flour: 30 g

Additional:

  • Powdered sugar: 5 g

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare Vanilla Sugar Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pods and add them to the sugar. Mix them together in a food processor (not to a powder, just to mix the seeds thoroughly with the sugar). Transfer the sugar to a jar, add the split vanilla pods, and seal the jar tightly. After a week, you will have excellent and aromatic homemade vanilla sugar.

Step 2: Make the Cake Batter Cream the softened butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Gradually add the eggs, observing the mixture (it may seem slightly curdled, but this is not an issue). Then add all the remaining ingredients (wheat flour, potato flour, baking powder, cinnamon). Mix everything thoroughly. Transfer the batter to a buttered and floured baking pan, and spread it evenly over the surface.

Step 3: Prepare the Apples Wash the apples thoroughly, peel them, remove the cores, and cut into 10 pieces. Sprinkle with lemon juice, lightly dust with sugar and cinnamon. Arrange them on the surface of the batter in a fan-like circle.

Step 4: Make the Butter Crumble Mix all the crumble ingredients in a small bowl. Knead until crumbs form. Spread the crumble evenly over the entire surface of the cake.

Step 5: Bake the Cake Place the cake in an oven preheated to 165°C (convection) or 175°C (non-convection) and bake for 40-45 minutes. Check with a skewer in several places to ensure it is fully baked before removing it from the oven. Let the cake cool.

Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
