Apple-Basil Smoothie

Incredibly refreshing and healthy smoothie with a unique flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • About 10 basil leaves
  • About 1 and 1/2 cups birch sap (or clear apple juice)
  • 2 – 3 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave syrup or sugar to taste

Preparation

  1. Peel and core the apple, then cut it into pieces. Place the apple pieces in the blender.
  2. Add basil leaves, birch sap (or apple juice), lime juice, and syrup.
  3. Blend until smooth, ensuring there are no visible pieces of basil. You can strain the mixture through a sieve if desired.
