Yeast pancakes with chocolate sauce can be prepared for a sweet breakfast or a simple dinner. They also work well as a light lunch on hot days.
Ingredients
10 pieces:
- yeast, 30 g
- sugar, 5 tbsp + 1 tsp
- flour, 2 cups (300 g)
- warm milk, nearly 1 liter
- eggs, 2-3
For serving:
- 1 liter jar of stewed apples
Chocolate sauce:
- milk, 1 cup (250 ml)
- cocoa powder, 20 g
- potato starch, 1 tbsp
- egg yolks, 2
- sugar, 1 tbsp
- vanilla sugar
Preparation
Dissolve the yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar, set aside for 10 minutes. In a bowl, combine the rest of the sugar (5 tbsp), flour, warm milk, eggs, and yeast, and mix to a smooth batter. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30-60 minutes.
Cook like traditional pancakes, fill with stewed apples, and drizzle with chocolate sauce: heat half of the milk with cocoa, mix the rest of the milk with potato starch, and bring to a boil. While continuously stirring, add the egg yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar.
