Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream

Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream

A great snack that’s simple to prepare. Refreshing and spring-like. Sweet. Trust me, it will delight you in every way.

Ingredients

  • flour 1 cup (150 g, all-purpose or cake flour)
  • baking powder 1 teaspoon
  • sugar 1 tablespoon
  • vanilla sugar 1 tablespoon (or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
  • salt a pinch
  • butter 5 tablespoons (50 g, melted)
  • eggs 2 (large)
  • milk 1 cup (250 ml)

Preparation

Sift the flour into a bowl with the baking powder, add sugar, vanilla, and salt, and mix. Add the melted butter, egg yolks, and half the milk. Blend until smooth, gradually adding the rest of the milk. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the waffle iron and beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold the egg whites into the batter in 3 batches, gently mixing with a spoon each time. Spoon portions of the batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook for about 2.5 to 3 minutes, depending on the power of your waffle iron. Before cooking the next waffle, ensure the waffle iron is hot and ready again.
