These aromatic shortbread cookies are perfect for Christmas. When they bake, the wonderful scent of cinnamon and ginger fills the house.

Ingredients

  • Cake flour: 1 cup
  • Powdered sugar: 1.4 cups
  • Margarine: 10 dag
  • Egg yolks: 2
  • Ground ginger: 0.25 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon: 0.5 teaspoon

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, cinnamon, ginger, and powdered sugar. Rub the margarine into the dry ingredients using your fingertips.
  2. Add the egg yolks and knead the dough.
  3. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut out cookies using a gingerbread-shaped cookie cutter. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Once baked, let the cookies cool. They’re ready to enjoy!
