A delightful idea for a refreshing spring beverage.
Ingredients
- 1 apple
- 4 stalks of rhubarb
- 1 liter of water
- 2 sprigs of mint
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of sugar, or to taste
Preparation
- Bring water to a boil in a pot. Add the chopped apple and rhubarb, season with vanilla and sugar, and bring to a boil.
- Add mint and simmer for about 2 – 3 minutes until the fruits are soft. Remove from heat and preferably let it cool in the pot.
- Pour the compote into a pitcher, add a few pieces of cooked fruit, and garnish with fresh mint.
