Homemade sesame bars – an easy-to-make sweet snack for the whole family.
Ingredients
- Sugar – 200 g
- Maple syrup – 50 ml
- Water – 100 ml
- White sesame seeds – 200 g
Preparation
Step 1: Toast the Sesame Seeds
Spread the sesame seeds evenly on a baking sheet. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C. Toast the sesame seeds for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
Step 2: Combine Sesame Seeds with Syrup
In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over low heat. Transfer the toasted sesame seeds to the saucepan. Mix thoroughly. Add maple syrup and continue to mix briefly over the heat.
Step 3: Cool the Mixture for Sesame Bars
Pour the mixture onto parchment paper and spread it out. Cover with another piece of parchment paper and flatten it to the desired thickness using a baking sheet. Set aside to cool. Once it hardens, break it into smaller pieces.
