Grilled Apples Stuffed with Rhubarb and Cranberries

Grilled Apples Stuffed with Rhubarb and Cranberries

If you enjoy baked apples, you’ll certainly love this dessert too! Stuffed fruits from the grill taste delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
  • Red apples – 6
  • Brown sugar – 70 g
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 packet
  • Butter – 2 tablespoons
  • Rhubarb – 500 g
  • Dried cranberries – 100 g

Preparation:

Trim the top of each apple (about 0.5 cm) and core them using a spoon, removing the seeds and part of the flesh (leaving walls about 0.5 cm thick). Transfer the scooped-out flesh to a separate bowl.

Wash, peel, and chop the rhubarb into pieces about 1 cm long. Put half of the chopped rhubarb into a pan with butter, brown sugar, vanilla sugar, dried cranberries, and the scooped-out apple flesh. Sauté covered for about 10-12 minutes until the rhubarb starts to break down. Remove from heat, add the remaining half of chopped rhubarb and cinnamon to the sautéed filling, mix. Set aside covered for about 10 minutes. Fill each cored apple completely with the prepared filling.

Wrap the stuffed apples individually in aluminum foil, shaping them like candies. Place the wrapped apples on the rack of a preheated grill. Grill for approximately 15 minutes covered. Then, remove the grilled apples from the grill and serve.
