Dessert Gnocchi

This dessert is sure to surprise and enchant your guests with its playful combination of flavours and textures. Coated in a warm mixture of cinnamon sugar and served with a rich, velvety chocolate sauce, this dish offers a delightful twist on the classic gnocchi.

Ingredients:

For the gnocchi:

  • 1lb packet of store-bought gnocchi
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar

For the sauce:

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Method:

Cook the gnocchi according to package instructions, then drain and allow to cool slightly.

Toss the cooked gnocchi in the melted butter until well coated.

Put the cinnamon sugar in a large zip-top bag, add the buttered gnocchi and shake until evenly coated.

Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over a medium heat until it begins to boil.

Remove from the heat and add the chocolate chips, ground cinnamon and cayenne pepper (if using). Leave to stand for a minute, then stir until smooth and creamy.

Serve the cinnamon sugar dusted gnocchi with the warm chocolate sauce for dipping.
