Ingredients
- Powdered sugar – 90 g
- Brown sugar – 2 teaspoons
- Vanilla sugar – 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon – 0.5 teaspoon
- Egg white – 1 piece
- Poppy seeds – 100 g
- Butter – 200 g
- Cake flour – 250 g
- Salt – 1 pinch
- Water – 1 tablespoon
Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Dough Sift the flour with powdered sugar into a bowl, add salt, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and poppy seeds. Cut the chilled butter into cubes, add it to the other ingredients, and knead. If the ingredients don’t want to combine, add 1-2 tablespoons of cold water. Knead the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
Step 2: Cut Out the Cookies Roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of about 4 mm, use cookie cutters to cut out the cookies. Transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with egg white, and sprinkle with dry ground poppy seeds mixed with brown sugar.
Step 3: Bake the Cookies Bake the cookies in an oven preheated to 175°C (convection) or 185°C (without convection) for about 11-12 minutes.
These cookies taste great with a glass of cold milk.
