Semi- sweet chocolate mousse:

chocolate mousse

Can a meeting with friends be successful without refreshments? Definitely not. That’s why it’s best to suggest this chocolate mousse. It’s a great accompaniment to biscuits and bananas.

Ingredients:

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 200g semi- sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Method:

In a heatproof bowl, whisk the egg yolks until pale and fluffy.

In a separate bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently.

Once melted, remove the chocolate from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the beaten egg yolks, whisking constantly until well combined.

In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and sugar until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain.

Spoon the mousse into bowls or glasses and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or until set.

Garnish with shaved chocolate or whipped cream before serving.
