Bean brownies

Bean brownies

Flourless bean brownies with dates and dried plums. A simple recipe for a cake – you must try it.

Ingredients

  • Red beans (2 cans, 800 g total, 500 g drained)
  • Dates (10)
  • Cocoa powder (5 tablespoons)
  • Honey (1 tablespoon)
  • Maple syrup or honey (4 tablespoons)
  • Baking powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Eggs (4)
  • Coconut oil (3 tablespoons)
  • Bananas (2)
  • Dried plums (10)

Optional glaze

  • Dark chocolate (100 g)
  • Plant-based or regular milk (1/4 cup)
  • Dates or dried plums (4)

Instructions

Drain the beans in a sieve, rinse with water, and drain again. Place them in a food processor or blender and start blending with pitted dates, cocoa powder, honey, maple syrup or honey, and baking powder.

Add the eggs and blend until smooth, then add the coconut oil and bananas. Add chopped dried plums and mix well.

Pour the mixture into a baking pan with a bottom size of approximately 20 x 23 cm and bake for about 40 minutes at 170 degrees C. Remove from the oven and cool.

Optionally, drizzle with chocolate glaze: place the chocolate broken into pieces in a bowl, add the milk, and melt in a microwave or water bath, stirring until smooth. Pour over the cake and decorate with chopped dates.
