Advocat bundt cake is an exquisite dessert typically baked for special occasions, such as Easter. This cake not only captivates with its refined flavor but also with its elegant appearance. By preparing it in the comfort of your home, you can give it an even more personal touch by using homemade advocaat liqueur or opting for a high-quality store-bought advocaat liqueur.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour – 400 g
- Butter – 270 g
- Fine sugar – 250 g
- Advocaat liqueur – 200 ml
- Eggs – 6
- Baking powder – 5 g
- Baking soda – 1.5 g
- Lemon – 1
- Salt – 1.5 g
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
In a large bowl, cream the butter with the sugar using a mixer on medium speed until fluffy and homogeneous. Once the mixture reaches the desired consistency, begin adding the eggs one at a time, mixing carefully after each addition. Use the mixer on low speed for mixing.
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a small bowl, then gradually add them to the egg mixture while continuously mixing. Once the mixture is uniform, start adding the advocaat liqueur. Also, add vanilla extract and mix well. Grate the lemon zest directly into the egg mixture. Carefully mix until you get a smooth batter.
Grease the bundt cake pan with butter, then dust it with flour. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. After baking, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool. Then gently remove the bundt cake from the pan by loosening it from the edges with a thin knife.
Before serving, sprinkle the advocat bundt cake with powdered sugar sifted through a sieve. You can also drizzle it with citrus glaze or chocolate icing, and finally, garnish it with edible flowers or grated citrus zest. Choose the option that suits you best!
