A tasty snack that no one can resist.
Ingredients:
Apples
- 2 apples (tart, e.g., Granny Smith)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Batter
- 100 g butter (or margarine, oil)
- 125 ml milk
- 2 eggs
- 250 g flour
- 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 150 g sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon each ground cloves, ginger, and nutmeg (or 1 teaspoon gingerbread spice)
Frosting
- 125 g cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Preparation:
Preparing the Apples Peel and quarter the apples, remove the cores, then dice them and place in a saucepan. Add butter, cinnamon, and honey. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples begin to break down.
Batter Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line a muffin tin with 12 paper liners. Melt the butter and pour into a bowl, add milk and mix with a whisk. Add eggs and beat with a fork until smooth. In another bowl, combine flour, vanilla sugar, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and spices. Mix well with a spoon. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix gently with a spoon until just combined.
Baking Spoon 2 teaspoons of batter into each muffin liner, then 1 teaspoon of apples, followed by more batter, apples, and finally batter again. Use a toothpick to swirl the batter and apples slightly. Bake for about 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean and the tops are golden brown.
Frosting Place cream cheese in a bowl, add powdered sugar, and beat with a mixer for about 5 minutes until fluffy. Pipe the frosting onto the cooled muffins.
