Apple Rose Shaped Doughnuts

A perfect dessert for both kids and adults – doughnuts with apple filling shaped into beautiful roses!

Ingredients

Filling

  • Sugar – 30 g
  • Sugar – 50 g
  • Cinnamon – 0.5 tsp
  • Butter – 25 g
  • Apple juice – 300 ml
  • Red apple – 2 pcs.

Dough

  • Icing sugar – 60 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 125 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Wheat flour – 190 g

Additionally

  • Butter – 25 g

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough Cut the butter into pieces. Add the egg yolk (do not use egg whites) and quickly knead with the remaining dough ingredients. If necessary, add a little cold water. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Step 2: Cook the Apples in Juice Wash the apples, cut them into quarters, remove the seeds, and slice them thinly (3-4 mm thick). Bring the apple juice to a boil with sugar. Add the apple slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until they become soft but not falling apart. Carefully remove and drain.

Melt the butter. Mix the sugar with cinnamon.

Step 3: Make Rose Shapes from the Dough Roll out the dough thinly on a bit of flour to a thickness of 3 mm and cut into strips (about 40 x 3 cm). Then brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Place the apple slices along the longer edge, slightly overlapping, with the skin edge slightly protruding over the edge of the dough. Roll up the dough, starting from the shorter side, to form small roses. Place them in greased muffin tin hollows and refrigerate again for 15 minutes.

Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 25 minutes. Cool, then carefully remove. Serve with whipped cream.
