Ingredients:
For the Rice:
- Milk – 800 ml
- White rice – 150 g
- Butter – 20 g
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
- Vanilla sugar – 3 tsp
- Salt – 1 pinch
For the Topping:
- Strawberries – 500 g
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
Preparation:
Step 1: Prepare the Cooking Base
- Place the butter in a pot and melt it gently.
- Add the milk and stir.
- Add the rice (if using bagged rice, cut the bag and pour the rice into the pot).
Step 2: Cook the Rice
- Bring the milk and rice to a boil, then reduce the heat to a minimum.
- Cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The rice should become soft and mushy.
Step 3: Add Sugar and Vanilla Sugar
- Towards the end of the cooking time, add the sugar and vanilla sugar to the pot and stir until fully dissolved.
- Cook for another 5 minutes, ensuring the rice doesn’t burn by stirring frequently.
Step 4: Prepare the Strawberries
- Place the strawberries in a strainer, rinse under running water, and remove the stems. Allow the strawberries to dry.
Step 5: Make the Strawberry Sauce
- Cut the strawberries in half and mash them with a fork.
- Add the sugar and mix well. Rinse the strainer.
Step 6: Serve the Rice
- Remove the cooked rice from the pot. There should be minimal liquid left, and the rice should be sticky.
- Transfer the rice to bowls and top with the strawberry sauce.
