Coffee-banana trifle

Coffee-banana trifle

Do you love the taste of coffee in desserts? Then you must try this extraordinary combination of coffee, caramel, bananas, and mascarpone!

Ingredients

  • Bananas: 2 pieces
  • Sugar: 75 g
  • Instant coffee: 6 teaspoons
  • Butter: 50 g
  • Mascarpone cheese: 250 g
  • Grapefruit juice: 3 teaspoons
  • Coffee liqueur: 1 tablespoon
  • Heavy cream 30%: 200 g
  • Brioche roll: 80 g

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the caramel sauce

Place the softened butter and sugar in a pan and wait until the sugar caramelizes and turns light brown. Gradually add 100 ml of cream and cook for a while on medium heat, stirring constantly. Wait until the caramel dissolves, and set aside to cool completely.

Step 2: Soak the brioche in coffee

Mix 3 teaspoons of instant coffee with 3 tablespoons of cold water until you get a uniform liquid. Slice the brioche into thin slices and place them at the bottom of a bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of coffee and coffee liqueur (to taste).

Step 3: Arrange the banana slices

Peel the bananas, cut them into thin slices, and mix with grapefruit juice. Then place them on the slices of brioche.

Step 4: Add the cream and caramel sauce

Mix 2 teaspoons of caramel sauce with the remaining dissolved coffee and set aside. Combine the remaining caramel sauce with the mascarpone. Whip the remaining cream until stiff. Mix the unused instant coffee with 1-2 teaspoons of water and add it along with the whipped cream to the mascarpone cream. Spread the mixture over the bananas. Decorate the trifle with caramel sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
