These oat biscuits are quick to make, delicious and perfect for any time of day. They’re a healthier option when you’re in the mood for something sweet. Plus, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of enjoying something you’ve baked yourself. Give them a try and you’ll see how easy and rewarding it can be!

Ingredients:

  • 75g wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 75g rolled oats
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 75g butter
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Sift the wholemeal flour and baking powder into a large bowl.

Add the oats and caster sugar to the bowl and mix well.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter and golden syrup over a low heat. When melted, remove from the heat.

Pour the melted butter and syrup mixture into the dry ingredients. Add the milk and stir until well combined.

Drop tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread during baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
