Cheese and Crumble Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • Milk – 1.5 cups
  • Yeast – 30 grams
  • Egg – 1
  • Sugar – 2 tablespoons
  • Flour – 600 grams
  • Butter – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon

For the Cheese Filling

  • Butter – 1 tablespoon
  • Cream cheese – 250 grams
  • Egg yolk – 1
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 packet
  • Sugar – 1.5 tablespoons

For the Crumble

  • Butter – 50 grams
  • Sugar – 0.5 cup
  • Flour – 0.5 cup

Preparation

  1. Dough: Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Add a tablespoon of flour. Mix and let it sit for 10 minutes to rise. Sift the remaining flour into a bowl. Add the yeast mixture, egg, salt, and softened butter. Knead the dough. Let it rise for 30 minutes.
  2. Cheese Filling: Mash the cream cheese together with sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolk, and butter until smooth.
  3. Crumble: Knead the crumble ingredients together from butter, sugar, and flour.
  4. From the risen dough, tear off small pieces. Form a ball, slightly flatten it. Place a portion of the cheese filling in the center. Seal the edges, forming a ball. Place the yeast rolls on a greased baking sheet. Brush the top with egg white and sprinkle with crumble. Bake for about 35 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
