This is a recipe for simple and quick to prepare shortbread cookies with the addition of freeze-dried strawberries. The cookies are delicious and very aromatic, with a wonderful strawberry-buttery scent.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 280 grams
- Freeze-dried strawberry powder: 20 grams
- Egg: 1 piece
- Cold butter: 150 grams
- Powdered sugar: 100 grams
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Iodized table salt: a pinch
Preparation
To a bowl, sift the flour, add the strawberry powder, powdered sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Add the cold egg and chopped butter to the dry ingredients, and knead the dough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
After this time, knead the dough again and roll it out into a sheet about 4 mm thick. Dust the dough with flour while rolling to prevent sticking. Cut out shapes using a cookie cutter (I used a heart-shaped one) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat) and bake for about 9-10 minutes until lightly golden. After baking, allow to cool.
