Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal

Using simple ingredients like old-fashioned oats, fresh sliced strawberries and milk, this recipe transforms into a hearty yet light breakfast option. The oats are cooked to creamy perfection with a splash of milk, creating a smooth base that’s complemented by the natural sweetness of the strawberries.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup milk, divided
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries, halved
  • Pinch of kosher salt

Method:

In a medium saucepan, bring 1/2 cup milk to a simmer over medium heat.

Stir in the oats and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes or until the oats have absorbed most of the milk and are creamy.

Stir in the remaining 1/4 cup milk to adjust the consistency to your liking. Cook for a further 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While the oatmeal is cooking, prepare the strawberries by slicing them.

Remove the oatmeal from the heat and transfer to serving bowls. Top with the sliced strawberries and a pinch of kosher salt.
