Perfect for a family fun day, a themed party or when you’re just in the mood for something sweet and playful, Silly Twits Ice Cream is a treat that will have everyone asking for seconds – and maybe even thirds!
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 140g caster sugar
- 300ml double cream
Method:
Separate the yolks from the whites.
Put the yolks in one bowl and the whites in another.
Whisk the yolks with the caster sugar until pale and thick.
Add the vanilla extract to the yolk mixture and mix well.
In a separate bowl, whip the double cream until it forms soft peaks.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture, taking care not to overcook the cream.
Whisk the egg whites until stiff.
Gently fold the egg whites into the cream and yolk mixture to create a light and airy texture.
Pour into a freezer-safe container.
Freeze for at least 4 hours or until set, stirring every hour to break up any ice crystals.
Spoon the Silly Twits ice cream into bowls or cones.
For extra silliness, add your favourite Silly Twits toppings such as sprinkles, chocolate chips or fruit.
