Quick Gingerbread Cookies

Quick Gingerbread Cookies

With the help of a thermo robot, everything is easier, especially kneading the dough for gingerbread cookies! Check out how quickly you can make these delicious treats.

Ingredients:

  • Brown sugar – 120 g
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Egg – 1
  • Cocoa powder – 2 tablespoons
  • Butter – 170 g
  • All-purpose flour – 400 g
  • Honey – 170 g
  • Gingerbread spice – 1 teaspoon
  • Grated orange zest – 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda – 0.75 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon

Preparation:

Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In the bowl of a kitchen robot, place the flour, gingerbread spice, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients for 10 seconds (speed 5) and transfer them to a bowl.

Tip! If desired, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the gingerbread dough at this point. This will make the cookies even more aromatic and give them a beautiful color.

Step 2: Combine the Dough Ingredients

In the bowl of the device, attach the mixing paddle, add the butter, sugar, and grated orange zest. Mix everything for 3 minutes (speed 4) until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then add the egg, honey, and vanilla extract, and mix for 1 minute (speed 4) until the ingredients are combined. Remove the mixing paddle.

Tip! In this recipe, honey can be easily replaced with maple syrup.

Step 3: Knead the Dough

Add ¼ of the dry ingredients to the dough. Select the kneading/soft dough/1 minute program. Then add another ¼ of the dry ingredients and select the kneading/hard dough/3 minutes program. Every minute, add another ¼ of the dry ingredients through the opening in the lid.

Step 4: Chill the Dough

Divide the dough into two parts and form each into a ball. Flatten them with your hands to a thickness of about 3 cm, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. The dough should be cold but still elastic.

Step 5: Cut Out the Cookies

Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it’s about 3 mm thick. Cut out any shapes you like and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the gingerbread cookies for about 8-10 minutes until they are crispy around the edges. Then let them cool and decorate as desired.
