Perfect for warm days, this chilled treat offers a refreshing blend of fruit and cream. Whether decorated with fresh peach slices or enjoyed on its own, Peach Bavarian is a simple yet elegant dessert that’s sure to please.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15-1/4 oz) sliced peaches
  • 2 packages (3 oz each) peach or apricot gelatine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 8-ounce package frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • sliced fresh peaches (optional garnish)

Method:

Drain the canned peaches, reserving 2/3 cup of the juice. Cut the peaches into small pieces.

In a large bowl, dissolve the gelatin and sugar in the boiling water.

Stir in the reserved peach juice. Chill the mixture until it’s slightly thickened.

Stir the almond extract into the whipped topping, then gently fold into the gelatine mixture.

Fold in the chopped peaches.

Pour the mixture into a greased 6-cup tin. Chill overnight.

Turn out onto a serving platter and garnish with fresh peach slices if desired.
