Microwave chocolate brownie in a cup

Microwave chocolate brownie in a cup

With just a few simple ingredients and a few minutes, you can enjoy a warm, gooey chocolate brownie that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp tap water
  • 40g Devondale Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup plain flour
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Vanilla ice cream, to serve

Method:

In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the softened butter, water and vanilla essence. Stir until well mixed.

Add the cocoa powder, flour, caster sugar and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients together until you have a smooth batter without lumps.

Put in the microwave on high for 60-75 seconds. The time will vary depending on the wattage of your microwave. 60 seconds will give you a gooey centre, while 75 seconds will cook it more evenly.

Allow the brownie to cool for a minute or two.

Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
