For Easter, it has to be a cake with a hint of matcha tea. Try this combination!
Ingredients
Cake
- sugar – 200 g
- green matcha tea – 1.5 tsp
- egg – 5 pcs.
- vanilla – 3 g
- butter – 250 g
- potato flour – 60 g
- wheat flour – 180 g
- orange – 1 pc.
- baking powder – 1.5 tsp
Decoration
- powdered sugar – 2 tsp
- powdered sugar – 1 tsp
- green matcha tea – 2 tsp
- grated orange zest – 1 tsp
- vanilla cream cheese – 400 g
Preparation
Step 1: Cream the Butter Cream the butter with sugar. Then add vanilla seeds and continue creaming. Gradually add the eggs.
Step 2: Add Dry Ingredients Combine wheat flour with potato flour and baking powder, gradually add them to the creamed butter. Finally, add freshly squeezed orange juice and mix everything thoroughly.
Step 3: Divide the Cake Batter Divide the batter into two parts. Add matcha tea to one part (if you want a more intense color, you can add more matcha, but the flavor will also be more intense), and add grated orange zest to the other part. Place both mixtures alternately in a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
Step 4: Bake the Cake Bake the cake in an oven preheated to 175-180°C for about 60 minutes. Before removing the cake from the oven, check with a toothpick if it’s baked through.
Step 5: Spread the Cream Spread vanilla cream cheese mixed with powdered sugar (you can also add orange zest) on the cooled cake. Sprinkle with powdered sugar mixed with matcha tea.
