Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream

This homemade delight captures the essence of your favourite café drink, swirled with ribbons of golden caramel. Each spoonful is a creamy, dreamy escape into a world where coffee and dessert become one. Perfect for coffee lovers and sweet tooths alike!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ¾ cup caramel dessert sauce

Method:

In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, instant coffee granules and salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Whisk in the heavy cream until well combined.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate until cold, at least 2 hours.

Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice-cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Pour half of the ice cream into a one or two quart plastic container with a lid.

Pour half of the caramel sauce over the ice cream, then top with the remaining ice cream and caramel sauce.

Use a chopstick or knife to swirl the caramel into the ice cream to create a marbled effect.

Press a piece of cling film onto the surface of the ice cream to prevent ice crystals forming.

Leave the ice cream in the freezer for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavour and texture.
