Anyone who has tried this recipe will tell you that the combination of chocolate and nuts is always a good taste experience. Another advantage is that no baking is required to make these sweet snacks.
Ingredients:
- 1 8-ounce carton of spreadable cream cheese
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 2-1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup sliced hazelnuts, toasted
- 1 cup whole hazelnuts, toasted
Method:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the spreadable cream cheese, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips and Nutella. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Gradually add the graham cracker crumbs to the mixture, stirring until evenly incorporated.
Take a small amount of the mixture and roll it into a ball between the palms of your hands. Repeat with the rest of the mixture to form the base of the thumbprints.
Place the finely chopped hazelnuts on a plate. Roll each ball in the chopped hazelnuts until coated.
Press a whole hazelnut into the centre of each ball to make a thumbprint.
Place the thumbprints on a baking sheet lined with greaseproof paper.
Refrigerate the thumbprints for at least 30 minutes to allow them to set.
Once set, remove the thumbprints from the fridge and serve.
