Originating in the French Quarter of New Orleans, this cocktail is a blend of crème de menthe and crème de cacao, shaken with cream to create a dessert-like drink that’s both refreshing and indulgent. Often enjoyed as a digestif, the Grasshopper is renowned for its ability to round off a meal with its sweet, minty notes.
Ingredients:
- Ice
- 25ml crème de menthe
- 25ml white crème de cacao
- 25ml single cream
- Mint sprig, to garnish
- 25g melted chocolate (optional), to garnish
Method:
Fill a shaker with ice.
Pour the crème de menthe, white crème de cacao and single cream into the shaker.
Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a mint sprig and drizzle with melted chocolate if desired.
