Gingerbread Palmiers with Macadamia Nuts

Gingerbread Palmiers with Macadamia Nuts

A sweet treat made from puff pastry that you can prepare in no time! Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack.

Ingredients

  • Egg – 1
  • Puff pastry – 1 sheet
  • Gingerbread spread – 100 g
  • Macadamia nuts – 150 g

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Beat the egg with a fork.

Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly. Spread the gingerbread spread evenly over the entire surface of the pastry.

Finely chop the macadamia nuts. Set aside 2 tablespoons, then sprinkle the remaining nuts evenly over the gingerbread spread-covered pastry. Roll the pastry along the longer side from both ends so that both ends are rolled towards the center. Cut the rolled log into slices about 1 cm thick and place them on the baking sheet flat side down. Brush the top of each palmier with beaten egg and sprinkle the remaining chopped nuts on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the palmiers start to turn golden brown. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the palmiers cool on it. Once cooled, transfer the palmiers from the baking sheet.
