The combination of cinnamon, apples and butter must create a wonderful bouquet of flavours. Baked apples are a guarantee that all gourmets will ask for more!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, cubed
- 6 medium tart red apples, unpeeled, sliced
- 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- vanilla ice cream (optional)
Method:
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sliced apples to the pan. Sprinkle the apples with 1/4 cup sugar.
Cook the apples, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
Sprinkle the ground cinnamon and remaining 1/2 cup sugar over the apples. Stir to combine.
Continue to cook the apples, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelised, about 5-7 minutes more.
Remove the pan from the heat. Serve the roasted apples warm as a side dish or dessert.
Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat!
