Mom’s Fried Apples

Fried Apples

The combination of cinnamon, apples and butter must create a wonderful bouquet of flavours. Baked apples are a guarantee that all gourmets will ask for more!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 6 medium tart red apples, unpeeled, sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • vanilla ice cream (optional)

Method:

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the sliced apples to the pan. Sprinkle the apples with 1/4 cup sugar.

Cook the apples, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, about 5-7 minutes.

Sprinkle the ground cinnamon and remaining 1/2 cup sugar over the apples. Stir to combine.

Continue to cook the apples, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelised, about 5-7 minutes more.

Remove the pan from the heat. Serve the roasted apples warm as a side dish or dessert.

Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat!
