Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter mixture and mix well.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes using a cookie cutter.

Place the cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased baking trays. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cool the cookies on a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar if desired before serving.
