Chocolate truffles with mascarpone are a perfect idea for a dessert or a sweet gift. These unassuming treats melt in your mouth!
Ingredients
Approximately 10 pieces:
- mascarpone cheese, 125 g
- semi-sweet chocolate (50% cocoa), 125 g
For coating:
- dark chocolate (preferably bitter, but semi-sweet can be used), 100 g
- butter, 2 tbsp
Preparation
Melt the chocolate. Beat the mascarpone cheese with a mixer for about a few seconds. Add the melted chocolate (cooled, slightly warm) and mix with a spoon. Place the mixture in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Scoop out the thick chocolate mixture with a teaspoon and form into balls (they don’t have to be perfectly shaped), place them on a tray lined with baking paper, and put them back in the refrigerator.
In the meantime, melt the chocolate with butter for coating the truffles. Form the balls into more regular shapes, dip them in the melted chocolate, and place them on a clean tray or plate. Refrigerate and serve once the chocolate has set. It’s best to store them in the refrigerator.
