Maple Ricotta Mousse with Candied Pecans

A testament to the simple pleasures in life, this mousse offers a moment of sweet serenity in every spoonful. Perfect for any occasion, it’s a gourmet treat that’s surprisingly easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1-1/4 cups whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese

Method:

Candied pecans: Cook pecans in a skillet with 1 tablespoon maple syrup until caramelised. Cool on foil.

Mousse: Boil the remaining maple syrup for 5 minutes, then cool. Whip the cream to soft peaks. Beat ricotta and mascarpone until fluffy, then gradually add 1/3 cup syrup. Fold in the whipped cream.

Serve: Spoon mousse into bowls, drizzle with syrup and top with candied pecans.
