Candied orange slices in dark chocolate

Candied orange slices in dark chocolate

A delicious and easy-to-make dessert – candied oranges in dark chocolate. Discover how they taste!

Ingredients

  • Oranges, 2
  • Sugar, 200 g
  • Dark chocolate (>70% cocoa), 100 g
  • Lemon juice, 50 ml
  • Water, 200 ml

Preparation:

Slice the oranges into slices about 6-8 mm thick. In a saucepan or skillet, bring the water, sugar, and lemon juice to a boil until a syrup forms. Simmer the orange slices in the syrup over very low heat for about 30 minutes, occasionally turning the slices over.

Then, remove the saucepan or skillet from the heat. Leave the oranges to cool in the pot.

Take the cooled orange slices out of the syrup and place them on a metal rack to drain. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a water bath. Once the slices are dry, cut them in half. Dip the halves into the melted chocolate and set them aside until the chocolate hardens.
