Apple pie with pudding and cranberries

Apple pie with pudding and cranberries

A world-renowned cake. Prepare an apple pie with pudding and amaze your household with a fantastic dessert.

Ingredients

  • flour, 350 g
  • butter, 250 g
  • baking powder, 1.5 teaspoons
  • powdered sugar, 70 g
  • egg, 1
  • vanilla pudding, 1 packet
  • milk, 1/2 liter
  • apples (gray reneta variety), 1.2 kg
  • cinnamon, 1 teaspoon
  • fresh cranberries, 1 cup
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preparation

Mix the shortcrust dough: place the flour on a pastry board, add diced cold butter, baking powder, and powdered sugar. Chop the ingredients with a knife into fine crumbs. You can also use a stand mixer.

Add the egg and combine the ingredients into a uniform dough. Cut the dough in half, wrap each half separately in foil, and place in the freezer.

Cook the pudding according to the instructions on the package, adding the amount of sugar specified (remember to boil both the milk and the pudding).

Peel the apples, cut into quarters, and remove the cores. Slice them and put them in a pot. Add cinnamon and cook covered for about 10 minutes until the apples soften, stirring occasionally.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare a small baking pan approximately 21 x 28 cm in size.

Take one half of the dough from the freezer and grate it coarsely onto the bottom of the pan. Level and gently pat down.

Place the apples on the bottom layer, then pour the pudding over the apples. Take the second half of the dough from the freezer and grate it directly over the pudding. Sprinkle with cranberries.

Bake for about 45 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar. It is best to cut the pie after it has cooled so that the pudding is completely set and firm. It can be baked in advance.
