Unleash the joy of baking with a twist! A carnival in every bite, these Trash Cookies mix the unexpected with the familiar. They’re your ticket to a whimsical world where jelly beans and pretzels meet in a sweet, crunchy embrace.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- 125g butter, melted and cooled
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup jelly beans
- 1 1/3 cups mini pretzels
- 1 cup mixed M&M’s
- 12.5g sachet Wizz Fizz Sherbet
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar and bicarbonate of soda.
In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, caster sugar, vanilla extract and lightly beaten egg until smooth.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a dough forms.
Fold in the jelly beans, mini pretzels and M&M’s. The mixture should be colourful and chunky.
Take a tablespoon of the dough, roll it into a ball and flatten it slightly on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the dough, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
Sprinkle a little Wizz Fizz sherbert on top of each cookie for extra flavour.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until just golden around the edges.
Leave the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
