It’s a dessert that brings comfort and a touch of luxury to your table with minimal effort. So why not treat yourself and your loved ones? Whether it’s for a special occasion or just because, this cake is a reminder that life is full of sweet moments just waiting to be savoured.

Ingredients:

  • Cooking Spray
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 (12 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (18.5 oz) package yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, cut into 1/4 inch pieces

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9×13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.

Unroll the crescent rolls and line the bottom of the pan, pinching the seams together to seal.

Mix together the softened cream cheese, white sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this mixture over the crescent rolls.

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon over the cream cheese layer.

Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.

Sprinkle the yellow cake mixture over the cherry layer.

Sprinkle the butter pieces over the cake mix, then sprinkle the remaining 1 tsp ground cinnamon and brown sugar over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake has set.
