Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 vanilla pod
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Method:
Prepare the vanilla bean by splitting it lengthwise and scraping out the seeds with the back of a knife.
Place the heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt and scraped vanilla seeds in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add the vanilla extract and whisk to combine.
Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until completely cold.
Pour the cooled mixture into an ice-cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
When the ice cream has reached a soft-serve consistency, gently fold in the caramel sauce to create a marbled effect.
Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze until the desired consistency is reached.
