This recipe is incredibly easy to make and doesn’t require any baking. It’s perfect for those days when you want a delicious dessert without spending hours in the kitchen. Despite its simplicity, this dessert looks impressive when served. The layers of graham crackers and creamy custard, topped with a glossy chocolate glaze, make it a showstopper.
Ingredients:
- 7 oz. vanilla instant pudding
- 3 cups milk
- 8 oz. cool whip
- graham crackers
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method:
In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding and 3 cups of milk until well combined. Let stand for about 5 minutes to thicken.
Fold the cool whip into the pudding mixture until well combined.
Place a single layer of graham crackers in the bottom of a cake tin.
Spread half of the custard mixture over the graham crackers.
Repeat with another layer of graham crackers and the remaining custard mixture. Top with a final layer of graham crackers.
In a small saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, 1/4 cup milk and butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla.
Pour the chocolate mixture over the top layer of graham crackers and spread evenly.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the graham crackers have set.
